The Championships are open

Breda

has seen what is comming tot hem: Wheels!

Over 350 civilian spectators from Breda, 600 military and their guests witnessed a spectacular event during the opening ceremony in which wheels and speed where shown by 100 participating musicians, dancers, acrobats and of course military participants.

Commander of the Royal Marechaussee Minze beuving saw how for the first time in the history of the Marechaussee an event was mainly hosted by his men. The substitute to the Commander in Chief of the Netherlands armed forces, Lt-Gen Sonneveld spoke to all present and memorized that cycling is a sport that gives a good view on the the military basics: a sport with stamina, strength, concentration and lets not forget: fighting spirit in and outside a team.

Both the majors of Breda and Chaam spoke to the participants and guests and wished everybody a sportiv and fair championship.
